Title: Thoughtseize or despise?
Post by: Temur_Tendency on November 04, 2014, 04:16:08 AM
So watching pro tour kans, i saw some decks running {despise}, some running {thoughtseize}. I mean {thoughtseize} is obviously better in decks where you arent losing too much life, but in a deck where your pain lands and fetch lands are bound to get the best of you, is {despise} the better option?
Do you think {Despise} has a safe place in standard post-roatation?

Despise is a very good card in standard currently. I think they both have a place. Personally, I know my deck needs all the help it can get, so I run 2x of each. Some people say just run 4x Thoughtseize, but that damage can be pestering. I like Despising away a Rabblemaster with no consequences. I think you need to look at your meta. Heavy creatures, or Superfriends, lean towards despise. Lots of control and counters? Thoughtseize.

Why not both?
