Title: Tri-color help
Post by: Mattacheu on November 03, 2014, 03:14:43 AM
I want to make a tri-color deck that could do well in a multiplayer, or 1v1 setting. But the thing is, I don't know what Colors to choose, and what mechanic, or mechanics, to base it off of. My friend had a BUG self mill, that never seems to lose, and I would like a fun tri-color myself. If someone could point me in a direction to get started, or towards a certain deck, that would be awesome :)

Esper Control.
Abzan counters and tokens.
Bant enchantments.
Jeskai speedy spells, not creatures.
Grixis gain control, sac/trigger, reanimate.
Jund Dragons.

These are all ones I've played and had fun with or an tossing the idea over in my head.

I like the sound of jund dragons, and grixis reanimate. How would I go about building one?

Scratch out dragons, grixis control and sac sounds like fun. And I'm just looking for a direction to head in, just some pointers to get me started.

Jeskai speedy spells is totally a viable option! That is a great starting point without a lot of the possible burn in there. Nice one Argus.

If still interested in Grixis sac and control, be looking at all the Act ofs ({Act of Treason}, etc) and the few blue ones too ({Volition Reigns}, etc), combined with lots of sac outlets for the end of your turn ({Attrition}, {Phyrexian Altar}, {Infernal Plunge}, etc...), add in some reanimate ({Rise from the Grave}, but better ones which I can't remember presently, lol).  Fill the rest out with creatures with similar abilities, counters, burn and kill spells. Maybe a {Cruel Ultimatum}, possible even a Lord Bolas. And there you have a hateful three colour control, lots of fun (for you) haha.

Thank you so much! I'm still unsure of how to build this, so I'm posting what i have so far right above this. If you could help more, that would be appreciated :)
