Notes:
Cromat as the commander gives me access to board wipes and mana ramp. Idea is to look innocuous and everyone's friend letting them draw extra cards every turn until I turn around for a huge hit in one turn to wipe out the board.

This is still a work in progress. Would greatly appreciate your thoughts and ideas about this deck before I try to get some of the cards I have been missing. Any questions I'll be happy to answer.

{Nekusar, the Mindrazer} isn't in the deck. What's the point of all the off colored sweepers? Why even be off color at all?

Red has plenty of great sweepers, like {Jokulhaups} and {Obliterate}. I don't exactly sense the purpose of a decoy deck, especially since you can run a more innocuous Grixis commander like {Lord of Tresserhorn} or {Tetsuo Umezawa}

It was an oversight that {Nekusar, the Mindrazer} wasn't in the deck. Running 5 colors gives me access to all the tutors, whites better board wipes and greens mana ramp. Since the deck is designed to draw tons of cards for everyone I need to be able to do things with my cards while getting the cards stuck in my opponents hands. So cards like  {Exploration} and  {Prophet of Kruphix} will allow me to play more of my cards out than my opponents so that when it comes time for the big finisher I have more than enough threats and mana to deal with the table.
It has also been my experience that when  {Cromat} is flipped as the commander, nearly everyone feels like it's going to be an interesting and fun game vs flipping nekusar or another grixis commander and not getting the same reaction.
The idea is to allow everyone to start drawing extra cards before I play out a card that punishes them for it. This way, they wouldn't want to attack me in a multiplayer, or at least they shouldn't, as I am allowing them to draw a lot more cards per turn giving me the time I need to dig for my threats to take out the table all at once.

But splashing green for {Exploration} and white for {Supreme Verdict}? I understand what you're saying, but it doesn't even seem to be worth the trouble. If you were running like 7 ramp cards I'd see the point in splashing to do that. You can artifact ramp and just run wheel effects. Instead the mana base is weird, your commander choice is for very few cards and you're cutting your access to Neuksar off by hiding him in the deck for a very miniscule, perhaps non-existent advantage. The cons far outweigh the pros IMO.

There are a couple other cards that utilize the other 2 colors though as you said, not enough yet to justify running  {Cromat}. This is my first attempt at making a 5 color deck so wanted to keep it focused at 3 or 4 and splash the other colors. This is also the reason why the mana base is screwy, which is why I turned to the iMtg community for assistance for suggestions to what could improve upon my idea.

My suggestion is to build a stronger {Nekusar, the Mindrazer} deck, or a better {Cromat} deck. Might not sound like help, but it is.

EDH is kind of important to be on theme, or close to theme. 100 cards isn't enough to do everything you'd like, choices are difficult and often. If you find a commander you like and want to build around, do that. Ship anything that isn't about the goal of winning.

There are about 10 or so good, colorless Artifacts that can ramp Grixis EDH decks right into everything you'd want Green to do. The beauty of the game is that all colors have drawbacks, and if you can't get something done in color you branch out. But I believe Grixis can easily do everything you need and more.

It is true that 5 color decks are ordinarily just 3 color decks that splash the other 2 colors (sometimes not always). But unless you plan on taking advantage of your 5-color commander, then it could just as well be anything. In this model I believe {Child of Alara} is better because at very least it is an emergency boardwipe.

I don't try to tell anyone how to experience Commander. Decks can be extremely personal and labors of love. I just think the idea of running a decoy commander and splashing weird cards that screw up your on-color mana base is bad for business. Its just kind of being done so you can win, and not because it's even a good idea. It's not something I would do, but I don't know everything.

A truly valiant response Dudecore and the second time the concept of themed commander has come up today. And of course I totally agree!

All really valid points, I am posting what I feel will be a much stronger Nekusar deck, called Growing Pains. Ripped out the green and white and for some additional threats.
