Post by: Mattao19 on October 27, 2014, 08:14:53 PM
Will {Treasure Cruise} be banned in legacy and restricted in Vintage?

Why? On eternal weekend it was dominated by delver decks that abused it.

{True-Name Nemesis} was supposed to be banned also. And {Snapcaster Mage}, {Blightsteel Colossus}, and {Stoneforge Mystic}, and backward through time forever.

It is a great card to curb {Tarmogoyf } and {Snapcaster mage}.  If {brainstorm} is legal in legacy then I just don't see why they would ban {treasure cruise}

Especially if you're Alex Bertoncini! Every {Brainstorm} is {Ancestral Recall}.

{Deathrite Shaman} doesn't hose delve. It practically does nothing to keeping them off {Treasure Cruise}. It would be unbanned for absolutely no reason.

Yeah...but I want {Deathrite Shaman} back....Also, it could be used to fight TC in some fairer decks. It won't help against Combo, but it could slow a Delver deck down a turn or so. (I am assuming we are talking Modern, because DRS isn't banned in legacy).

Yeah, talking Modern. I don't think it does that. It gives unfair decks DRS back, and does virtually nothing to keeping them off Cruise. DRS can get rid of what, 2 cards maybe between turns? {Scavaging Ooze} is better at keeping them off delve and better at racing.

I mean, drawing 3 cards for one blue mana is pretty grean. And if you add in a Quicken, that allows you to draw 4 cards on your opponenet's turn for 2 blue mana. Lolz, I like it.

But I don't think it's ban-worthy.

You could always just wiff and draw 4 lands anyway; it's not like you get to scry them like you do with Dig Through Time. The quality of Dig versus Cruise is much better.

The quality of dig versus cruise is another topic but the fact a common and rare are being compared that way says a lot for the common.

I for one am ok with drawing 3 lands from cruise because I just saved top decking those for the next 3 turns......at least that's how I see a bad scenario and try to find some good from it ;)

I played in a 36ish person legacy event last weekend and I played against a dude who was on omni-tell. He was running  {Dig Through Time} and it was so absurdly broken in that deck! He told me after that he'd never cast it and not won, so good.
