Title: Standard Kill Monster Combo
Post by: Erzengel on November 07, 2011, 08:59:46 AM
It's not infinite but use play a cryptoplasm and then copy it with an evil twin. Now at the beginning Of your upkeep copy an opponent's monster then you can pay b and u and kill a monster it copies. Works on any monster but hexproof ones.

Combos don't need to be infinite to be interesting. Just don't forget the curly brackets around the cardnames so readers can link to the cards and appreciate the combo.

{Evil Twin}
{Cryptoplasm}

Good  combo BTW.

This would work, huh? I believe it for the first time you copy {Cryptoplasm} but once you recopy something at your upkeep, it would still keep the destroy creature ability?

I will confirm this with the "higher ups".

Reading the cards more carefully, he's right. The extra destroy ability is added when the Twin's ETB ability replaces how it enters the Battlefield. If it becomes a copy of {Cryptoplasm}, then the next time it uses the 'plasm's copy ability, the extra destroy ability will be overwritten. 😪 Too bad. I liked this one.

Now if you {Evil Twin} an opponent's {Essence of the Wild}, every new creature you put in play would be a copy of the Wild with evil Twin's ability too, meaning you could kill any Essence of the Wild in play. XD

While we're on the sub topic of essence.. If I cast a {viridian emissary} while essence is on my side does emissary lose his ability?

Indeed he does. Because {Essence of the Wild} reads '... enters as a copy of ...' they lose everything written on their cards and has what is written on Essence instead. 😁

However, if you {flicker} the {Evil Twin} every turn with {Venser, The Sojourner}, you can have a similar effect.
