So there's a creature on the field, my side. Said creature is a 2/3 with a kite shield equipped. Enemy player casts an enchantment aura that makes it so the creature cannot block or attack, but shatters whenever the enchanted creature is the target of a spell or instant. The next turn, I cast winds of rath (destroy all creatures that aren't enchanted.) destroying all creatures but the 2/3 with kite shield.
Now, my question is whether or not the enchantment would be destroyed. (I believe it's called ice cage or something. ) the argument against it was that it wasn't "targeted," but what's the official ruling?

{Winds of Wrath} doesn't have the keyword target so it didn't trigger {Ice Cage}'s (if that's the right card) ability. That's how things like {Wrath of God} and {Supreme Verdict} kill hexproof, they don't target.
{Winds of Rath}
The enchantment (we'll use {Crystalization}) would not be destroyed. Winds of Rath does not target. In order for a creature to be targeted, a spell or ability will have to specifically say the actual word "target" in it. Global effects, including winds, don't target anything, they just sweep over the whole board.
Edit: beat me by about 10 seconds :P

Hence the nickname "sweepers".
Also, Ninja'd.
Id like to add that even if {Winds of Rath} said Destroy any number of not enchanted target creatures, that creature wouldnt be able to be a target because it is enchanted, and the {Ice Cage} would survive.
{winds of rath}
Awww tempest and the rath cycle...such nostalgia. I had the whole tempest set and my friend had stronghold. I wish my parents didn't let me sell that when I was 12 years old. But 100 bucks was like a fortune back then...
100 dollars. Damnit!!!!

Side note
As kite shield is an equipment and not an enchantment aura, the winds nuke your creature...
I think he was explaing exactly what was happening in the game, reread the first post and you will see he adds that the enemy enchanted it with something like {Ice Cage}
