Title: Eldrazi Monument and Board Wipes
Post by: Daxos on October 09, 2014, 04:13:17 PM
{Eldrazi Monument} and a couple of creatures in play.
Cheesy opponent casts any of the various "destroy all nonland permanents in play" spells.

Since the monument itself is not indestructible, when the spell resolves it will be buried.
My question is, do the creatures survive? do they enjoy one last whiff of indestructibility before the monument dissappears into the long good night?

let me know how to think about this, please

so basically, while the spell is resolving, your creatures will have indestructible. until the monument is removed for any reason, your creatures will still have indestructable. now if everything was gonna get destroyed, the creatures would lose indestructibility only once the spell has resolved and the monument is gone. end result, creatures will live through the board wipe.

Simply put: when the spell happens, your creatures are industuctible. So they don't die. The monument does.

So if the board wipe was {reverberate}d would they die then? I'm assuming yes?

Yep. New stack. The monument is already gone.
