Title: Ashling the pilgrim edh
Post by: Crossed on October 07, 2014, 02:01:17 PM
I'm using {Ashling the pilgrim} as my commander. When her board wipe ability triggers, can I redirect the player damage to my opponents planeswalker and/or to my own planeswalker (if there are any available)r; or is redirection only allowed with targeting?

Wait...any damage that could be done to players can instead be done to a planeswalker? Like {shock}?

Just to further clarify then. I can redirect my own damage to my own plainswalker, right?

I'm afraid not. It can only be done to opponents. See:

306.7. (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=306.7.): If noncombat damage would be dealt to a player by a source controlled by an opponent, that opponent may have that source deal that damage to a planeswalker the first player controls instead. This is a redirection effect (see rule 614.9) and is subject to the normal rules for ordering replacement effects (see rule 616). The opponent chooses whether to redirect the damage as the redirection effect is applied.

No, that should be fine! You target them and redirect when it resolves.
