Title: Spell resolution question
Post by: Destore117 on October 03, 2014, 04:03:28 PM
If a spell can not resolve past a certain point, but the rest of it could? What happens?
Ex:  {Crippling Chill}
Say I target their creature and they give it hexproof
Can I still draw a card? Or no

nope. upon attempted resolution, all targets are illegal and the spell is countered. if the spell had multiple targets, and one of them became illegal via hexproof the spell would try do as much as it can like {electrolyze} and you would still draw a card. if all targets are illegal, the spell will be countered and you wint draw a card.
