Well this is my basic idea for my progenitus deck. Decided to go tribal with hydras and have simic style control but still splashing the other colors here and there!

well considering hes 5 color you can basically put any legal edh cards in. so, what kind of deck do you want to build with him? 5 color control? oops all my spells are broken? 5 color gods? or maybe just splashing red (since its the least optimal edh color on its own) and mainly playing a four color brew. were happy to give you suggestions, but with a commander as open as {progenitus} you kinda need to decide on the theme of the deck.

and youll most likely want {prismatic omen}.

See I was thinking about going with GWB mainly, green for ramping, blue and white for control/disruption it seems once you get progenitus out it's game

What kinda deck do you want to play?

5 color good stuff?
Planeswalkers?
10 Theros Block God devotion?
5-color control?

Edit: Getting {Progenitus} out is far from game. Gotta be able to win without him.

True. Then 5 color good stuff is what I want, something that'll be fun and kickass

5-color good stuff is difficult. Basically anytime someone is running 5-colors, they're really running 3-colors and splashing the others for good stuff. True 5-color decks are rare because the mana fixing is extremely difficult unless you have thousands of dollars for ABU lands and 10 fetches. I should know because I run a true 5-color with a slowwwwwww mana-base.

That being said: pick the 3 colors and what you want them to do.

Not sure what ABU lands are but with the fetch lands coming out in the khans hopefully the price will drop a bit. And I'm gonna go with GWB mainly and splash in BR good cards

Alpha Beta Unlimited (Revised also) lands. {Tropical Island}, {Badlands}, {Tundra}, ect.

Instead of running the Theros Temples, I'd maybe run {Maze's End} and the 10 Guildgates with {Scapeshift} as an alternate wincon.

That is a great idea actually, thanks! Wonder if I should leave them for the scrying and card choices, and take out some of the khans gain 1 life lands for the guildgates

Well you wanna run all 10, and that is how {Maze's End} wins. So you could replace the Khans refuge lands with a few Scry lands.

I knew that, was just saying I wanna leave the temples in and replace the others for the guildgates

I recommend making green one of your major colors in the deck, if for no other reason than to use spells like {Cultivate} to fix your mana.

And since you're running {Maze's End}, don't forget {Scapeshift}!

Yah green is def gonna be a major aspect in this deck because of the high mana cost of creatures and spells in this deck. Cultivate would fit great! Just need to figure out what I need to remove

So game plan, making hydras for Defense until I can somehow pop out progenitus then transfer the +1/+1 counters to progenitus and swing 20 lol that's one win con, as well as running mazes end, and if all else fails just bashing with some mean ass hydras and lots of simic style counters and control :)

Transferring counters onto Progenitus might be tricky - protection from everything means protection from your stuff as well. You'd have to find ways to move counters that don't use the word "target." {Bioshift}, for example, would be unable to put counters on Progenitus, since you can't target him.

Also probably noteworthy that {Coalition Victory} is banned in commander ;)

Awww chit and thanks lol at least that frees up a spot for something else :)

You can run {Door to Nothingness} however. {Progenitus} also dies to all sweepers, as they don't target. Board sweepers are a staple in EDH, someone will be running them. Just keep that in mind.

Oh wow that'd be great to replace coalition victory

You were completely correct about true give colour. However, they can currently be done without the original duels. Shocks and pains and the tri colour lands are rather good. I run five Colour scarecrows and my mana base doesn't cost a billion dollars.the deck that I put a ridiculous amount of effort and money into is Genju of the Realms land animation. True five colour can be done. Also. More counterspells

I understand I am gonna need a lot more counter spells definitely but it sucks so bad having so many cards and limiting them to just a few lol that's one of the things I find so frustrating about commander, sure it's a hundred single cards but dang they're all the cards ever made so it's so difficult to just pick a few lol

Running 10 Tri-Lands definitely makes it easier. Got a modest $80 you can run 10 shocklands. I am just saying that true 5-color mana base is difficult because it is slow. Even shocks are no guarantee of quickness, although they add the element of being more fetchable.

I actually have quite a few shock lands.. So I can run them as well lol
