These are links to the tournaments that happened yesterday/today, I'm interesting in playing monogreen or the junk reanimator deck, for the monogreen deck I only have already 3 coursers, a carytid, and 2 chords of calling and the commons/uncommons. The cost of the 3 carytids,Polukcranos/Nissan etc is more than 160. And the cards I need for the junk are pushing 180. Help needed..

Adjust the deck so instead of Polukranos run a different 4 drop for now maybe something that's a common then eventually when you get more money switch it back

Deck is sweet, but I feel it wants a couple of {Chord of Calling}s.
Ya I'd -4 Yisan and plus 4 Chord
Also do you have friends to borrow from?

You could always play Modern instead of Standard....

Only if his budget had an extra zero on the end...
Modern runs {Young Pyromancer}, {Delver of Secrets} and some other commons and uncommon from the past 2-3 years. Modern is a non-rotating format that you can grow with it. Fetches flooding the market now, Shocks just left Standard. {Liliana of the Veil} and others are expensive, but you could be in tier 2 of Modern and build over the coming months into Tier 1.

I know :P
Just giving you a hard time. Tier one is pretty expensive though. THSTS shy I'm building bloom titsn. $275~ and tier 1.5-2. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I for the record, do not play Modern. I detest the format and think it's very very poor. That being said, I care about players. :P
A non-rotating format will always be better then Standard because of the investment for reward. Standard is sort of price fixed in a way that Rares will always be $20 or less, at a price above $20 it's worth it to open boxes. Save for the {Mutavault} thing, that trend has been around forever. Also, when Standard rotates prices plummet. Casual players have no worries, because they're not searching for the super playable cards everyone else is spending their paychecks on.
Modern has the advantage of growing with you, staples will always be good. So in another 2-3 years, even if the entire landscape is different, Shocklands and Fetches will still be good.
I love modern and trying to get out of standard, because in the long run, standard is more expensive than modern. I hate that in order to stay on top of standard, you constantly have to pour money into it. While in Modern, though the initial cost maybe high (depending on the deck), once you build it, all that's left is just a few updates here and there. You don't have to worry about rotations. I have 2 modern decks that do not run fetches that are pretty competitive, although I'm building up to fetches for my zoo deck...

The thing about this argument is that when you are a modern player......you still want to spend money on the new stuff. I don't play standard and I have spent $700 on khans. Thanks to the fetch lands otherwise I would have spent maybe $200 max

I know that feeling!!! I wanted to get out, and BAM! Wizards print fetches!!! I have to get those now and the walkers and then a few odds and ends...
I know we're getting a little off topic a little, but I like the fact that standard always changes, sure it's more expensive, but in 2 years I won't still be hearing about how mono black devotion won with Gary again. But with modern, the teir 1 decks will pretty much always be teir 1. U can go on a limb and try something new in modern, but in the end, it will never be better than t1.5 unless u just revamp a proven concept. I'm trying to get into modern right now, but I just like how standard is always fresh, always something new. And all of the sudden someone comes out with this crazy idea and it works.
