Title: Ghostfire Blade in affinity
Post by: cltrn81 on September 04, 2014, 04:22:49 PM
Who thinks this thing has a place in modern affinity?

http://mythicspoiler.com/ktk/cards/ghostfireblade.html

I mean it ends up being:
{1} Ghostfire Blade

Artifact - Equipment

{1}: Equip

Equipped creature gains +2/+2

I'm kind of in agreement on that.  I'm just curious to see what people think.  It is the only application I see this card being effective.

I see it primaliry as being a limited/cube card. Probably decent for a budget affinity deck, but if you're looking at competitive modern, it's certainly no jitte.

{Ghostfire Blade} is a nice backup for my {Ensoul Artifact}. I mean 2/4 flyer on turn two, not bad.

It'll also be a nice plus for {Scuttling Doom Engine}. Not bad.

I'm sure it will see play, just not in affinity per say (til you get that one wacko at a pro tour revealing the cards hidden potential with {insert ludicrous combo here})

It's just a card with so much flavor and then usability wise I look at it and I'm like meh.....  Then I wonder what was designs angle and target audience for the card playability wise.
