Title: Negative Attack Power
Post by: Coffee Vampire on April 10, 2012, 11:42:55 PM
Would a creature with negative attack power cause a player to gain life, and does it still count as dealing damage?

Thanks!

Heh, no, power and toughness don't go below 0. That's be nuts with cards like {Disorient}.

Technically, creatures can have negative power. No damage is dealt by having negative power and it doesn't cause life gain.

CR 510.1a Each attacking creature and each blocking creature assigns combat damage equal to its power. Creatures that would assign 0 or less damage this way don't assign combat damage at all.

It still deals 0 damage.
