So got this from the Khans of Tarkir thread but figured I'd post it here.
{Ornithopter} + {Midnight Guard} + {Retraction Helix} + {Purphoros, God of the Forge}
Again. Not my combo. Just wanted to put it here for others to see.
You forgot {Midnight Guard}. Without that it doesn't work

Thanks lol Sorry...suuuuper tired. Fixed it! Now everyone can have shenanigans •-•
I'm kinda stunned that retraction helix has a decent use..

It's actually a lot of fun on cards that don't have anything better to do. I mean you could do some kind of {Archaomancer} + {Retraction Helix} + {Guttersnipe}
Good point. Haha. That's pretty good synergy. I guess I never looked past the fact that it came off as a lame {unsummon} to me.
{Retraction Helix} is also good in inspired decks. You can also block, then tap your blocker and bounce an attacker. {Retraction Helix} has utility.

Also, is fun for Vigilance creatures, swing, tap and return something else to hand.
Look at my post called "Im a Johnny" it's my take on it!
Are you guys arguing for it's utility in standard or across all formats? I could understand standard but I'm not convinced otherwise. Lol.
I tried searching for the I'm a Johnny post. Didn't come up. Am I missing sarcasm?
Edit: found it. Haha.

It's situationally better. It also hits nonland were as {Unsummon} only hits creatures.
Fair enough. I honestly didn't give it a second look.. Lol. Feeling a lil ignorant now..

BUT the creature needs Haste (or to not be sum. sick) also any creature removal stops the Helix

do you mean in response to Helix, they play removal. Cuz if helix already was resolved you could just tap the creature and save itself.

As I said. Situationally better.
Or {presence of gond}+{midnight guard}+{souls attendant} If you're not playing standard
