Some friends of mine say I need a fun deck in EDH. I can spend about 30 bucks, I don't really care if it wins I just want to have fun.

What's edh I know it sounds dumb but...
EDH is commander before it was called commander. It stands for Elder Dragon Highlander. Elder dragon referring to the orriginal commanders people would use ({Arcades Sabboth}, {Chromium}, {Nicol Bolas}, {Palladia-Mors}, {Vaevictis Asmadi}) and highlander referring to the singleton rule (there can only be ONE!). Nowadays we just say EDH for short but it means the same thing :).

If you dont know what EDH is, it is a format where you use a singleton 99 card deck with a Legendary creature as you "Commander". You can cast your commander feom the Command Zone at any point you could cast it from your hand, and the deck must contain only cards with mana symbols that appear on you commander. For example, {Sharuum the Hegemond} allows you to play {W} {B} and {U} and Memnarch allows you to play {U}. More info and official rules: http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php
As for the OP, Id buy the precons. The new ones are multicolor and will be coming out in October/November, or last years were the shard colors and pretty good.
