Title: Bit of a dilemma
Post by: Thetrufflehunter on August 13, 2014, 02:38:37 PM
So as you guys know, I opened a foil dack fayden. This was opened in a booster draft for my birthday party, of which I opened in my pack and took pick one. My brother thinks we should split he profit of the card, because it's "not fair that my party is drafting and I get to keep the cards". He is having his own party, and still thinks "our parents are giving me an extra $100 present because I'm keeping the cards." Advice?

Wait... So this is YOUR birthday party, right? And you opened it in YOUR pack? And he's having his own party too? I don't see why he thinks he deserves this. Did you keep all of the cards from the whole draft? Like I could see if he opened it and you get to keep it, but it's your card, bro, your parents didn't inherently GIVE it to you. It's the luck of the draw. If he's also doing one for his party, he has the same potential to get a money card, probably not a Foil Mythic like Dack, but maybe something else.

He doesn't even play magic too often. He's doing some airsoft for his party.

Tell your brother to get a haircut and get a real job!

Nah seriously, your party, the cards were bought for you, you deserve the profit. Tell him if he doesn't like it to go have his own party.....

Then if he draws something good pester him a bit so then he knows what it feels like.

Brought it up to my mom, she had the same opinion. "They're your cards".

He might not deserve any of it, but it is a pricy card and life is short, why not share your good fortune with family?

Sell it on eBay and buy him something for his hobby.

Then say, "you will always owe me one"
