I play. Lvl 50. Main party is...Idek. I have a fire team going ATM.
I play! My main party right now is a rainbow squad led by the Lava Axe Michele lvl 60 Anima. Planning on evolving her soon. The other units are usually Dark Curse Lunaris at lvl 52 Anima; Xenon & Estia at lvl 50 oracle; Snow Lion Signus lvl 53 Anima; and Gemini & Mina at lvl 66 Breaker. That is my arena team, and lately I have been using it in story mode and vortex by switching out Gemini & Mina for a God Tree Eltri at lvl 58 anima.
A couple units I'm sitting on include a Felneus at lvl 58 Oracle; a Hot Chef Lancia lvl 80 anima; a Snow Cub Signus at lvl 60 Anima; a lvl 1 Homusubi Lord; a lvl 32 Estia Guardian; a lvl 53 Royal Guard Xenon; a lvl 11 knight Will breaker; a lvl 19 Hell King Hades Guardian; a lvl 38 Death Magress Oracle; and a lvl 28 Black Magress Lord.
Whew, I had to take pics of them all in order to put it here. The sad part is, now that I look at the list, I feel like a total nerd!
What is this game? It sounds good.
It's like a pixel RPG for IOS and it is a lot of fun. It's not pay to win at all, so that's always a nice touch! And it's just an overall good app.

But the new story monster has a nice leader ability. Already has a top spot in the arena.

Ok so I started playing last night. I spent like $9 and got 14 gems....maybe a waste of money on a game but whatever. So my current list is

Dark Arts Dia is a rainbow squad leader, and they are always nice. Stats are good, so she's good. Later on I do suggest getting a mono squad along with the rainbow squad, it helps a lot. :)
Also cltrn, when you're a high enough level, I suggest swapping out the falcon for the sage.

Early on, I suggest dropping the priest for a pirat to fill in the water spot, fusing the jewel god, and putting the white healer in its place. Not the angel, but the saint lady whom I can't remember.
Or you could keep the priest, and fuse the jewel god with someone, replacing it with a unicorn.

I don't have any white units besides the one in my party 😩
What white unit should I try to get and how can I get it?
In story mode, play through until you get to the white area. The areas go from;
Fire
Water
Earth
Lightning
Light
Dark
Boss Area
Just get to the white area, and get units there. :)

1. Overtime, I suggest replacing the unicorn and merith for something rarer. But that will come later, and you don't need them right now, so don't stress :)
2. I do suggests leveling up Dia and Edea over Weiss. Stats wise, they are better for the team overall.
I just got a dark arts Dia. So I have two 12 cost characters I can't use yet. Should I run Dia over bran for now? Is her brave boost better?

Actually, if you swap out thunderbird for Dia, and you make Dia your leader, you now have a rainbow squad! :)

That's ok! You still are using the unit for now and so leveling him up is nice for the team too. And once you have someone to replace him, you can (I like keeping another team on standby, and much later you kinda need three to go up against Karl and Grahdens and dare I say, the second form of Creator Maxwell (whom I will never defeat)) and his level will count for quite a bit of exp.
Is there anything special to know about fusing? So I just learned the gem guys sell for a lot of zen and you should not fuse them to characters. I just got a mimic.....anything special I should do with him?

Ahh great question! I may have misread an original post and I thought "Jewel God" was actually "Light God."
Anyway, there are three types of units not intended for squad use. Fusion Units, Selling Units, and Evolution Material Units.
<Fusion Units>
They come in the following forms from worst to best:
Ghost
King
God
Crystal
Before each of those suffixs are prefixes such as light, dark, fire, etc... These are the. Best fusion tools, and if you match up the type of the fusion material and the unit you are leveling up, you get more exp.
<Sell Units>
Likewise as the fusion units, they come with the same suffixes (minus the crystal), however they come with the same prefixes, Jewel. These units give the most Zel.
<Evolution Units>
These are a list of evolution unit types.
Sprite (I believe)
Spirit
Idol
God
Bulb
Mimic
Pot
Each of them have their own type (fire, water, light, etc...) with the exception of Mimic. And God and Bulbs have an extra type being, "Miracle."
Mimics are an interesting evolution unit, they are usually found in every evolution material list, however, they have different levels. There is Mimic, Metal Mimic (which I haven't used yet, Dragoon Mimic, and another mimic I can't quite remember.
<Ways To Find Each Unit>
For fusion units it would be the metal parade, which requires a metal key which you can receive either as...
Compensation for update, or server downage.
From a place in the imperial castle section (the farthest right building) where you click on it and it says "recieve key."
Or buying it.
For sell units, they appear in the Saturday and Sunday Dungeon in the Vortex area.
Or you can use a Jewel Key to access the dungeon at any time, and this key is acquired in the same way as the metal key.
The evolution materials are tricky.
For Sprite, Spirit, and Idol, they can (very rarely) appear and then you can pray that you can get the unit. You can also get it during Tuesday's dungeon along with Pot.
For Gods, they only appear at Thursday's Dungeon and the Light and Dark gods only can appear at a special dungeon that happens rarely, or it will appear during a run of the other god's dungeon.
Mimics can appear throughout the story mode by chests. If the chest is shaking it contains a type of mimic. They also appear (as chests) in the Wednesday dungeon.
I have yet to figure out how to get a bulb.

Got a new phone and lost all my progress. Summoned a Sky Hero Athena though, pretty good. Current party:

Have a Breaker 6 star version of Sefia I believe with 2 Angelic Foils (+75% attack on the first two turns, each.) (two because the sphere frog gives you another slot to put a sphere in)
Just did math, on first two turns she would have 5,708 attack
6580 is the actual number due to the fact there is probably a 50% attack increase as a leader skill.

If you can get another holy arms Douglas, you will be very close to getting a crit team. Which is led by zebra (storyline unit). And I believe you actually need 3 Douglases
