{Dissipate} is strictly better than {Cancel}, but I would almost say some mix of {Negate} and {Essence Scatter} would be better than eight three mana counters.
Stain the mind is a sb card, honestly we need a good sweeper if we want this to work. I could see a 1 color sweeper that's not affiliated with a wedge printed, or there will probabky be a 3-4 color sweeper with a coc 4-5
Essence scatter rotates out soon. He was wanting this for post rotation. But I agree he needs some cheaper removal.
With so few creatures any convoke will not be worth it. {stain the mind}.

With the way things are currently without seeing khans {drown in sorrow} will be control's "board wipe" won't do much good in the late game except for scry but still does some work for now that isn't 7+ mana for destruction. Now we do have {ætherspouts} and that will be our "board wipe" and put the creatures on the bottom. Just will mean for green mages that {chord of calling} will have more targets.
We do have a very expensive board wipe in {Fated Retribution} don't forget
Depending on the deck your playing, mass calcify could be used as a boardwipe. Running the elspeth you'll be saving the soldiers

My advice - wait till kahns is spoiled to finalize any sort of post rotation list.
{Ætherspouts} is AMAZING. They swing with 4 creatures, you either stop their draws, or they tuck. Value.
