Example: I play {Æthermage's Touch} and hit {Acidic Slime} if I use a blink spell like {Cloudshift} or {Roon of the Hidden Realm}'s ability will the slime have to return to my hand or will the blink cause it to remain on the battlefield afterwards

It would return at the beginning of your end step, but would stay due to the fact that the beginning of the end step has already occurred, but would be returned to your hand at the beginning of your next end step.
this is not correct. if you {cloudshift} before the endstep, {acidic slime} will be a new object and {æthermage's touch}'s ability won't be able to find him. he will NOT be returned to your hand.

5/1/2006 If the creature leaves the battlefield before the end of your turn, it won't return to your hand at the end of your turn.
