So Ive noticed that my foil cards while sitting in a side deck box on my dresser have started to develop a pretty nasty Curve to them. They're close to looking like
( <- this <-
Any help to stop this?
The inside of the box isn't curved or anything and I haven't used most of these cards since I pulled them. Why are they curling like this?
Have a similar problem with my foil Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards.
Search on youtube tolarian community college curling foiles
Are they old foils? I know that all my old foils did that, especially my playset of {Multani, Maro-Sorcerer}... Could be one reason why I despise foils now...
As far Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, I have never known that to happen, unless the printing quality has gone since I quit (December 2011)
The foils are from Gate crash, Dragons maze, M14, M15 and Theros.
So no they're not old at all. But they're curling for like no reason.
Foils will curl. They have to be preserved when you get them. The Tolarian Community College video is very helpful (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QTmubrS8VnI). I have had foils return from bending by putting them in a KMC perfect fit, inside a KMC hyper mat, inside a gramped deck box. They'play never be 100%, but you can make major improvements.
Foils react to hot weather also
I book em
Usually keep all my foils worth more than $30 in their own cases if they aren't decked

Live in Northeast Ohio so it's a mix of freezing cold and stupidly high humidity in the summer.
What do you mean book them? Like. Put a bunch of heavy books on them?
I've done that to some cards that have curved, just throw a single card in the middle of a thick book and stack a few old text books on top

Done and done...now just wait for the results I suppose
Sleeve them in a fairly stiff sleeve with another card behind it.
