Although this guy has a drawback, he is a 3/3 3 mana flyer which is very powerful in limited and draft. If played on turn three, this guy could get in several hits before he gets an answer, which can clear the way for your bomb or game winning creature . Besides who doesn't like Necrogen gas! ;)
Hmm. If I drafted black I might give it a shot but it'd probably be one of my last picks. I've always had bias against cards with drawbacks. (I mean who would run that when they could run something like {Vampire Nighthawk}?) that being said {2}{B} for a 3/3 flyer is pretty decent. I don't see him getting standard play and I see him being an okay draft pull.
Sure {vampire nighthawk} is strictly better, but we don't have it in m15.
This is a solid draft pick. I like a 3/3 flyer in black.

I know, I was using it as an example to show that there's a lot of things that are strictly better.

agreed. i had two and they were both bombs.
It's wen better with the griffin that nulls etb effects. Did that to many opponents during the prerelease

It's way better, but NOT strictly better..."strictly better" in the magic world means better in every way. Nighthawk has 2 power, this has 3. And while the BB in it's mana cost would be better for devotion it makes it more difficult to cast. Way better, not strictly.
