Now that we know it less if and more when I though we should discuss how it would impact.....well every format except for pauper. If fetchlands were reprinted how would it affect the price? Questions (more like points of debate):
-Where would they fall as a price while they are standard and after? Onslaught or Zendikar.
-Which are more likely to see a reprint? Onslaught or Zendikar?
-How would they affect each other? How would a Zendikar reprint affect the Onslaught ones and vice versa?
-Are fetchlands a good investment?
I suspect Zendikar reprints to get newer players into modern. I don't think it would affect standard too much, just a way to get a basic land, unless they print more dualies in Khans, fetches won't be gamechanging. Just evening out manabases for wedge decks.
Just my opinion though.
Why can't we just have a perfect manabase again? (looking at you Indy-Rav Standard)
It will get people into modern regardless of whether its the zendikar or onslaught ones. You have to remember that if the onslaught ones get reprinted then they will become legal in modern, (provided they get reprinted in a standard set of course) and open up a lot of mana base possibilities. The cost of your mana base is what is a barrier to modern, and they won't get more expensive with more supply.
1. Fetches will std play. The current meta (if reprinted in Karns) will consist of Temples, Pains, and basics therefore players can only fetch basics! But 1/2 the reason why we love fetches is bc it's a way to thin your deck, plus often times in modern you just fetch a basic so you're not taking 3.
2. It will be Zendikar fetches bc having all 10 fetches in Modern is absolutely pointless. The mana base is good enough we don't need {Polluted Deltas}
3. Let us pray they come in Karns :P
