Title: M15 Pain Lands
Post by: Dmreiss on July 06, 2014, 10:08:29 PM
Have they said why they only printed half of the pain lands?  I thought they wanted to balance all of the 2 color combinations.  This shows favoritism towards certain guilds and could out other combinations behind tempo.  What are your thoughts, or what have you heard?

No, they have not said, but they did say that M15 is supposed to have an enemy color theme to it, so I think that's why. (Although the theme really didn't come across too well, IMO). Also, its a good set up for wedges.....

You would never see all 10 in one set.  Same with the check lands.  Those were around in friendly colors before Innistrad finally brought the enemy color check lands.

Possible the next block with have the friendly color pain lands.

The problem is if they put the others in an expansion, then they are in standard for 2 years and the enemy colors for only 1.

They reprinted the check lands in the core set so that they could be in standard for the same amount of time.  I suppose they could do that again.

Should we expect that from the next set?

Pain lands were reprinted in their entirety in both 9th and 10th edition.

9th and 10th edition are in no way similar to a current core set current core sets have to abide by a lot more strict rules and guidelines.
