Recently switched to {Rafiq of the Many} voltron and I needs yo advice! What are some key cards to include at all costs?
Swords are awesome with double strikes.
{Shield of the Oversoul} is nuts!!! So are:
{Steel of the Godhead}
{Favor of the Overbeing}
{Finest Hour}. That is all.
{Alpha authority} for that necessary hexproof.
{Dauntless Escort}, {hyena umbra}, {spider umbra} and {bear umbra} for survival?
And {Sigarda, host of herons} is pretty great for the anti-sacrifice effect as well as being a back-up voltron route.
{distortion strike}?
{Battle Mastery} for when you don't attack alone. {Celestial Mantle} {Corrupted Conscience} are mean.
Of course {Winds of Rath}
and the tutors
{Enlightened Tutor}
{Idyllic Tutor}
{mystical tutor}
{three dreams}
Are all auto include to get you voltroned up.

Also, why Rafiq over Derevi? Derevi has flying, which is arguably better than exalted and a cool ETB ability.

Double Strike to any guy that's suited up and +1/+1 makes damage add up fast.

Very different builds. I started with {Jenara, Asura of War} for the evasion and the self-pump, then decided that I was way more excited to see Rafiq hit the field. He has been performing way better than her. Derevi just seems like your typical Bant ETB kinda deck, not really a super voltrony build.
It would be cool as hell to see a competitive Rafiq voltron vs. Uril voltron.
The real question is are you favoring enchantments or equipment more? (Or a combo of both?) My Isamaru list starte more equipment heavy but now runs a mix of both since you can only cast and equip so many in a turn.
Because you have access to blue you can add in some control which is nice! My friend swore by {Might of Oaks} in his Rafiq deck 😉

:o I like {Might of Oaks} a lot even though it is super narrow. I am still stuck with the control shell from Jenara, so I'm up for either direction. Probably more enchantment based since I just sold all but two swords :P

I get to see this soon. My friend has a Uril deck and another is building rafiq
Someone else needs to bring bruna to the table and see who comes out on top.
