Title: Blockers sequence
Post by: russellalbert on April 07, 2012, 06:25:34 PM
Another noob question. I find the rules contradictory on blockers. If I block with multiPle blockers who chooses the orde of the blockers?

Your opponent assigns damage to each blocker. There isn't really an order per se.

But what if I put multiple blockers on one attacking creature?

The attacking player orders the blockers. When combat damage is dealt, it is done in that order. This is a fairly new change.

There are of course things in this game which change this ruling (like anything in mtg)

Banding for one. If you have a set of creatures with banding, all clinging together for dear life, then the banding party's controller gets to assign the damage to his/her creatures. (attacking or blocking)
But banding can be a confusing mechanic so best not to wory about it till you come across it. :)

Ugh, Banding, AKA The ability that shall not be named. 😜
Hope you never have a run in with that.
