If I cast {boros charm} for 4 damage to player, can {spellskite} use it for doublestrike in response? How does it work in this situation?
No, by the time the spellskite can change its target (once its on the stack and priority is passed) the mode of the spell is already selected.
So spellskite cannot target boros charm if I use the 4 damage effect? Correct?
The 4 damage will take effect? Is there anyway spellskite stop me doing this?

Not with spellskite, it will need another legal target if you can redirect it with another spell. Legal targets for the 4 damage will only be a player.
Ok, cause I was playing them online and they tried to change the ability of the card to doublestrike. I didn't think they could, now if I cast it for doublestrike, then spellskite could target itself, correct?
When you cast {Boros Charm} you are only using it for 1 of its 3 possible abilities. {Spellkite} can have the target from the double strike changed to it if you used boros charms ability as the double strike, it could also be used against the 4 damage because it targets (but since it would be illegal it would be unchanged), but it does not work against the boros charm indestructible part because that does not target:)
So Spellskite only works against the double strike part

The only thing {Spellskite} can change the target of is doublestrike. It can target the 4 damage to target player effect but it will fizzle because {Spellskite} is not a player, thus cannot be a valid target.
The 4 damage cannot be redirected by {Spellskite}.

Look at the prior rulings for Spellskite:) that will help a little:)
