Title: Scalding/crypt
Post by: ibtrickey on July 02, 2014, 04:51:42 AM
If you {Scalding Tarn} a {Blood Crypt} you only lose 1 life correct? Because 'put' does not count as entering the battlefield for the blood crypt right?

Why would it not count? It is still entering the battlefield from your library.

You would pay 1 life to search for it, then another 2 life if you want it untapped, for a total of 3 life.

Blood crypt doesn't say 'when blood crypt enters the battlefield from your hand' it says 'when blood crypt enters the battlefield' so it doesn't matter where it comes from. If it enters untapped it costs you two life.

It still comes in tapped and you have to pay to untap it.
What a lot of people do is crack the fetch at end of their opponents turn and then untap normally, which is what you may have seen.
