Title: Prevention
Post by: Destore117 on June 29, 2014, 10:27:46 PM
So im curious. does "preventing" damage reduce it to 0 or does it basically say that it never happened or does the damage happen and the damage has no effect on life totals or toughness?
Wondering for things like Wither, Infect, and Lifelink.

Prevent damage means to take nothing as in it never happened
So infect and other things would not take place

Let's say you -2 domri or monstrous polukranos and then fogged nothing would happen to any creatures (in this example)

615.6. If damage that would be dealt is prevented, it never happens. A modified event may occur instead, which may in turn trigger abilities. Note that the modified event may contain instructions that can't be carried out, in which case the impossible instruction is simply ignored.

Your example does not work in regards to fog. A fight ability is not considered combat damage.

just linking cards. fighting with domri is not combat damage and wouldnt be prevented by fog, as stated above.
