Title: Pit Fight?
Post by: DimirOverlord1300 on June 28, 2014, 01:45:39 PM
So I decided on GB Rock for my lgs's modern proxy tournament. I was looking over some decklists and saw a guy who was running a few {Pit Fight} mainboard alongside {Phyrexian Obliterators}. Opinions on this? I'm running the Obliterators and was wondering whether I should run the {Pit Fight}s.

Yeah, it seems pretty cool but would it be worthwhile/competitive or would I be better off with something like {Maelstrom Pulse}

Damn that's interesting!! Pit fight with Obliterator reads

{1}{G}

Destroy target creature that creatures controller sacs X permanents where X is that creatures power!!

I'd say it's definitely worth a play test!?

Modern proxy tournament?? Why not just play modern?

Seems too situational. Sure, big papa makes that card have like 17 effects, but without, it's bad removal that can and will be a dead draw. I'd rather run something that always does what I want it to, like Pulse, or Decay, etc.

Cause most people don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on decks...? And it's hard to really get into the spirit of modern when everyone but 1 or 2 people are forced into using budget decks

Invest. It's way cheaper than Standard.

I would agree, but I'm just speaking for people who aren't really into it yet. It takes a while to get a modern collection going if you don't have the $$$ to drop
