Unfortunately Swagtusk will never see another standard reprint and he sucks in modern which is funny that 2 formats are soo different!!

I know that he'll never get it, but if you asked me ton place one specific card based on what I want to play going forward, it would either be him or {tamiyo, moon sage}

I think the card would be fine for standard now.  The reason it was so strong before the last rotation was because the insane synergy it had with Restoration Angel.  There aren't too many options for flickering creatures now, so it'd probably be fine.  It'd just give decks playing Green more options to fight against Burn, which is pretty strong right now.

No, between standard shrinking (meaning we lose {Supreme Verdict}, {Sphinx's Revelation}....) and the power of Gruul Monsters, {Thragtusk} would take over standard in a {G}{R} Monster shell.

Yep, also Jund never had white to flicker thragtusk and it worked great in it.

Yeah {thragtusk} was pretty stupid when you had access to {restoration angel}, but even so jund was the best deck in standard for so long and it wouldn't have been nearly as powerful without swagtusk. I mean aggro just fails at that point and midrange can't keep up unless they one of their own!

Wizards admitted this too they said they thought that {Wolfir Silverheart} would occupy the 5 drop in Green

Wolfir had a brief time in the spotlight when it was used with infect decks.  It was a $20 card for a little while
