{Whetstone} and {Leyline of the Void}??
Does this mill the player out since no cards go to the graveyard?
Or what happens?

No. 2 cards get milled. This is not the same as the  {Helm of Obedience} combo. This combo says a specific number has to be milled, which they do, regardless of the zone they wind up in.

Just throw in a couple {Traumatize} and {Mind Grind}s. The void will take care of the rest.
