Title: Father's Day gift
Post by: Wingnut on June 15, 2014, 12:18:25 PM
So my Father's Day gift today, from my wonderful 2.5 year old son is spilling coffee on a bunch of my cards. Yeah it was sweet, he instantly turned about $60 worth of cards into valueless cardboard. Casualties include but are not limited to:
{Courser of Kruphix}
{Command Tower}
{Steam Vents}
{Gilded Lotus}
{Garruk's Horde}
{Hellrider}
This doesn't include about 20 other various cards. Luckily it didn't get ALL the "expensive" cards in the deck. Plus it got me a green light for a trip to the card store. This people, is REAL fatherhood, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

No I'm keeping it, the only card that may be unplayable is the gilded lotus. Everything else is playable, just a little bubbled on the back.

I think I can save it. I threw it in a sleeve and have a few books on it. I've wanted one for a while and finally traded for it, so I'm gonna make it work.

This is great stuff! I've got one. Last year my then one year old decided to create a slobber oragami out of my {imperious perfect}. I bemoaned the loss for a bit but, really, it was kind of cute.

I have a little one on the way very soon. I fear that many a card will be chewed. (If he's anything like his dad, I destroyed much of my brothers lego collection with my nibblers during infancy.)

It's rough when they do things like this, but really, there just cards. You can be bummed about the situation, but they don't know. He does it when he's 5 and he's out the door though :)
