You know those games where you are sure you have lost, or your opponent has lost and somehow the underdog win?
Well today my brother, his friend, and I were drafting his friends cube. I was running a GW white weenie with a nice {Rancor}, {Umazawee's Jitte} (spelled that wrong sorry), and a sword. His friend had everything he needed for reanimator, and my brother played RDW. Well I had two life and six lands. I had lost this game so long before, and was constantly being saved by Jitte. Well, I was deemed not a threat by the other two and they focused on each other. {Elish Norn, Grand Cinobite} (I botched that up so bad :() was on the field, and things were looking bleak. They were fighting each other and if I would be targeted, I'd usually lost a blocker and gain 4 life from Jitte. One thing led to another and a {Gideon Jura} and a {Garruk Wildspeaker} entered my board. My brother had out a couple creatures, a {Xeganos, God of Revels}, and an {Elspeth, Knight Errant}. My friend had like a {Snapcaster Mage}, the Elish, and {Baleful Strix}. I killed of my brother's creatures using Gideon's 2nd ability, just trying to last long, and putting out a 3/3 beast blocker with Garruk. (At some point I had to attach Jitte to Gideon to stay alive). Anyway, I used Gideon's 1st ability and targeted Elish Norn guy. He was tapped out. My brother jumped a {Vexing Devil} using Elspeth, and used Xengenos to give him +7/+7, and Elish Norn guy died. I kill off his {Vexing Devil} using Jitte. He has no more creatures. I play {Wurmcoil Engine} from my hand, untap 2 lands to equip Jitte to Wurmcoil. I have 1 life. He plays a {Lightning Mauler} but doesn't have anyone to soul bond it to. I have a Wurmcoil, a 3/3 beast an a Garruk with 4 loyalty. I will die next turn, and he will jump the lighting mauler and make him a 10/10 (along with anything he could use in his hand) Jitte has no counters and my brother is at 18 life. I draw {Overwhelming Stampede}, used Garruk's ulti, played Overwhelming stampede, ended the game with 19 life, and he died with 32 damage and -14 life.
Anyone else have a story?
At a GP side event I showed up to my match 10 mins late (oops lol) anyways I sit down only to discover that my opponent had yet to arrive lol I called for a judge and got the win :D
I was in a 4 player commander game with only 5 life left. I'm playing my {animar soul of elements} deck. It's my first main and I have {soul of harvests}, {deadeye navigator}, animar (with 5 counters) on the battlefield. My top deck that turn was a {consecrated sphinx}. I cast con sphinx for UU. The player to my left also has one on the battlefield. She decides to trigger hers when my soul of harvests trigger goes off...I then follow with my own trigger...this continues until I decided to stop it, with 40 cards in my hand. Of those cards were {prophet of kruphix} {palinchron}, {acidic slime}, and {duplicant}...I cast prophet of kruphix, the pass the turn, on upkeep, I go infinite with palinchron-deadeye and then cast duplicant and acidic slime, destroying/removing the entire battlefield....I thought my game was over....

Agreed!
That is so much win!
I was playing standard vs a BW midrange deck with my BUG control in it's earlier tests, back when I ran a {Whip of Erebos}
I can't fully remember the board states, but he just dropped an {Elspeth Sun's Champion}. I had already used 2/3 of my downfalls and I would have lost if I didn't draw Downfalj. Next turn, drew it
Later on I ulted Kiora and had a few Krakens out. The issue was he had 2x {Blood Baron of Vizkopa}, both 10/10's and he had 50+ life. I had to draw the Whip in order to stabilize. Drew it next turn
I was playing my Shattergang brothers deck. I was at one life with a glissa a {Devouring Swarm} {Dictate of Erebos} and a {Falkenrath Noble}. One of the people was playing a super friends deck and had 38 7/7s with indestructible. I drew into a Memnite and went into infinite sacrifices and destroyed everyone else's creatures dealt 58 damage and killed 2 people and put me up to 59 life
The other night I was rocking my mono black devotion and my brother was testing his brand new green deck that utilizes {Scourge of Skola Vale}. He drops it out on turn two because of the mana acceleration. He. Spends the next couple turns turning it in to a twenty four twenty four, I've got two {night veil specters}, {whip of Erebos}, two {underworld connections} and {nythkos shrine to nyx} along with {Heros downfall} and two {desecration demons} in hand. I've got this. Tap my nythkos. Drop both demons side by side. Tap both connections to draw to cards and I get two {grey merchant of infidels}. And then I cast Heros downfall. He can't slip out of this one... Yes he can. Instants out {ranger's guile}. Negating the death of his guy, ( keep in mind he also has like five mana dudes out). So I'm like "fine, whatever. I didn't want it dead anyway. I wa bluffing." I swing at him withy specters. He ditches nothing good from the top but then it's his turn and I'm in for suck fest. He casts prey upon. Twice. Kills both my specters drops a fat fatty named {arbor collosiss}. Taps his skourge to eat it but first uses aspect of the hydra on it to make his arbor collossus get +9/+9 so his scourge got 15 more power and toughness. He's at three life, I'm at 41 and am happy that the scourge is tapped. He the decodes to cast savage surge. Sacs some mana dorks to tap out my demons and then swings in for EXACT victory. First time my mono black deck lost around here. It was a sad day.
So my opp is at 5 life. I {Magma Jet}. They're running mono G Aggro. No counters and no haste. I'm at 7 life. I scry and see a {Lightning Bolt} and a {Searing Spear} on top. Keep them both. I pass, he BTE-s twice then passes. Before I draw my friend comes over and knockes over my top cards. I put them back on but accidentally reorganized them, and he repeatedly swung out :(

Always felt kinda bad, but won several games after my opponent swung for lethal, right into {Think Twice} and {Terminus}.
But {Terminus} is a Sorcery?...

Interesting. Was not aware.
EDIT: Duh! That's the only way you can cast it during your draw step. Haha, carry on.
Any win with {Barren Glory}
I think any win with something like {lightning bolt} is kinda BS. I personally don't like winning that way and feel bad when I'm like "aaaaannnd yea sorry I bolt ya fer game"
I play burn in modern I feel the opposite
I don't get the draw to burn decks they involve no alternate win con like sure they are good decks but why not play a deck with decisions?
