Title: Godsend and Commanders
Post by: Lordmaster on June 07, 2014, 07:12:05 AM
Just wanting to know if I block a commander with godsend, is my opponent able to recast the commander from the commander zone?

I wanna double check before I put it in my EDH

Yes. The commander rules allow your opponent to replace the event [exile] with the event [return to the command zone], meaning his or her commander was never actually exiled. Godsend 's last ability will not affect the commander in that instance because the commander was not exiled.

The only way I can see this working is if another person is playing the same commander in their deck as a non-commander. Though that would be a dick move towards the player that has that specific commander

but still useful for other creatures opponent controls, since at cheap CC and +3/+3 and its ability, but i suggest it to use in mono white commander
