Title: Running a card
Post by: TheRecklessPlaneswalker on June 06, 2014, 09:52:32 AM
I'm going to GP Chicago, and I'm runing my black white midrange deck, thoughts on adding 1  {Athreos, God of Passage}?
I've been playing one,
And it makes my threats hurt just a little bit more.
It's hard to pay 3 life for my  {Blood Baron of Vizkopa} when I have them down to 5 you know.
Is it worth to be in the 75?

That could be an interesting addition. I'd say go for it

Hell ya it is. Athreos is unreal! I'd debate 2 copies also if you run {Obzedat Ghost Council} devotion is there (well for your turn lol)

I tried Athreos in a midrange BWR deck, and he didn't pan out well. It seemed like he only triggered once per game, because midrange only plays a few creatures, unlike in Aggro where they run lots of little stuff, where Athreos wrecks house. But that deck did have R in it, so who knows. I'd say he's definitely worth the playtest though
