So I playtest the Grand Prix deck and it kinda struggled getting the opponent to a decent damage range for scapeshift to pop off enough damage. Going to playtest this variant with delver to help pop in some early damage. We will see how it goes! Suggestions welcome
Oh, delver/scapeshift. When I clicked on this I was looking for something with {dovescape}.... :P
If you're playing around with the idea, Vendilion Clique is a much better card to run above Delver since it compliments control in a better manner.
I agree with the clique on control. My idea behind delver is the 1 CMC that has a high probability of flipping next turn and getting in quick damage so I can use scapeshift sooner. If delver don't help much I may run a couple cliques instead and see.
This is a control deck, though. Delver dors nothing to help that or you escape get in damage. And you're playing the longer game, so Delver is unneeded since it doesn't provide anything that helps in the longer game like Clique does.
I am saying that a weak point of this deck is that it is sometimes hard to pop a {scapeshift} with 6 lands in play and kill the opponent with that 15 damage.
My point is since there are so many instant/sorc in here.....delver will flip very early. Then he can plink in the early 6 damage maybe by T3 and hopefully I hit my 6 lands closely after and can pop scapeshift for the win.
But your point is well met because if I draw delver mid game.....it's almost a dead draw....and the clique would be a much better card at that point. IDK I'm just toying around with it at this point and appreciate your feedback. I will playtest without the delvers and see if running 2 cliques will be better.
You jerk! When I saw the name, I thought that you might be using {Dovescape} and got really excited...
