Title: BJJ
Post by: Wingnut on May 17, 2014, 12:03:23 AM
So, I don't know if anyone here can relate or not but I'll throw it out there. I train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Renzo Gracie lineage to be exact), I am a blue belt and have been training for about 6 years (with a 2 year break in the middle). Short story made long I was able to attend a John Danaher seminar tonight, and my mind is officially broken. The level of understanding this man has of one of the most diverse martial arts out there is stupefying. The very specific detail that he breaks every step into is rediculous, yet he makes it seem like it's as simple as getting dressed in the morning. Just simply astonished, anyone have any questions or comments please feel free. I know there is probably not a ton of grapplers on a mtg forum.

I don't know about you but I find that getting dressed in the morning is extremely difficult sometimes. 😉

3 years wrestling in high school. Best workout I've ever endured. More than that it builds concentration, mental toughness, and calms and focuses the mind. It was the best thing a 16 year old male could have been a part of.

It's very humbling yet empowering, you go though hell regularly so what is some dude off the street going to do to you? You spend the first year being smashed, the next couple surviving, then on even ground, hopefully someday I'm be doing the smashing. All in good time. Get back into it, you won't regret it.
