Title: Drown/Spoiling
Post by: ibtrickey on May 16, 2014, 06:15:15 AM
If I play
{Drown in Sorrow}
And then play
{Sudden Spoiling}
Does it kill all of their creatures?

It depends on whether the creatures have any toughness counters on them or other toughness boosts due to other effects. If there are none, then yes, they all die. If there other effects, then layers apply. And I need someone better than me to explain it...

In short, yes. However, cards like  {Castle} or others that give at least +x/+1 will save their creatures, as the toughness is increased at all times (or, in this case, while they're untapped).

A card like {Diregraf Captain} will essentially have no effect on saving creatures, since when he dies all other zombies lose the +1/+1 bonus he granted, thus dropping them to 0/2.

Hope that makes sense.

 {Killing Wave}
May not kill the creatures, but they will take a lot of life loss...

Over on the commander forums there's a post for staple board wipes for all colors. It's on one of the first few pages I think. I personally like  {Decree of Pain}.
