Anyone have any abilities that they would like to see in mtg? I know you do, that's why I started this thread. Heres one of mine.
An affect given to any permanent really...
"Retaliate" X- if an opponent plays a spell, you may pay X and reveal this card from your hand, copy whichever spell was played directly before you pay this card's retaliate cost.
How about
"Splice into summoning"- if you successfully cast a creature spell you may cast this spell without paying its mana cost, if you do discard a card at random from your hand.
How about this:
Harvest into One: X - X: combine the power, toughness, and abilities of two creatures that share a controller to make one creature token named Spliced Imprintor, the two original creatures are then destroyed. Put this token in to the battlefield under the control of the player who got their creatures spliced. (Counters, enchantments, equipment etc transfer to the token. X is the highest CMC of the two creatures.)
Ex: Mirran Crusader + Champion of the Parish = Mirran Champion, 3/3, double strike, pro B/G, whenever a human enter the BF under your control put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.
Landeur XX - when this spell comes into play, you may pay XX. If you do, search your library for X basic land cards and put them onto the battlefield tapped.
Follow through - You may assign lethal damage to the target and assign the rest of the damage to another target of your choice. You may repeat until there is no more damage to be assigned. (Essentially trample for spells)
Mortal enemy (if any card would deal damage to a creature, it deals double that damage if that creature is an opposing color of the card.)
(example, black creature deals double dmg to white and green creatures with this ability)

That's awesome!!
Twist of fate X-(given to ungodly powerful creatures with incredibly low casting costs) if lethal combat damage was dealt to a player by this creature this turn, instead of ending the game, both you and the damaged opponent reveal the top X cards or your library, the player whose cards total to the highest cmc wins the game.
"Evolution"- an ability similar to "level up" only changes to the creature are determined by the amount of turns it remains in play. Also if the creature leaves play, it is still considered to have evolved (having spent turns in play already) if it ever returns to the battlefield.

Confusing, put this in the wording it would be in on the card!

That is awesome.....would suck getting countered though since sacing the creatures is part of casting the card.

And if it were an ability on a creature...
Unneeded bump

i like this one. it would be cool also if it was against a creature type ie. Mortal Enemy - goblins, or another characterist like power ie Mortal Enemy - Power more than 4

I doubt it would become a keyword ability though. And we'd go back to the old .politics. of the colors, with the coming of the guilds, I do think enemy colors grew closer together, even got archetypes.
