Title: Leonin arbiter
Post by: Maxpayne03 on May 10, 2014, 07:36:20 PM
 {Leonin Arbiter}
If I have 2 {Leonin Arbiter} in play, will their ability stack?

No, they both add a casting cost that can cancel the effect. The effect is the same, therefore your opponents only have to pay once.

This is incorrect.  You could have at least read Arbiter's Gatherer rulings before posting.

Each one, though the ability is redundant, provides an extra instance of the ability.  If your opponent spends 2 mana to ignore one effect, the other is still there, making them have to pay another 2 to ignore the second instance of the ability.

Also, it's not a casting cost, it's just a cost.  It is paid as a special action that doesn't use the stack, and can be paid any time the player has priority.

Then I was wrong...
Also, Remillo, I couldn't have read the rulings. I don't have the features.

Or you can just go to gather and search up the card. Either way it's a great resource.

Thanks guys. I usually try to figure rules questions by reasoning. It works 3/4ths of
the time.

Look at his trigger as a wall you must get through before you can search your library, 2 instances means 2 walls.

Does anybody remember back when there was a thing going around that said if you don't know the ruling don't answer? Wrong answers can cause massive problems for people when they try to take that wrong ruling back to Friday night Magic or something.

It's posted in the Read This before Posting sticky. If you don't know the answer, don't guess. Wait until you know what the answer is or someone else posts the answer. This way we can cut down on incorrect rulings.
