What about Cyclonic Rift ? It ends games, and so does Ashiok :p
When I ran Grixis, {Ral Zarek} was a powerhouse as well. Ramping a mana in those colors was brutal, have fixing for overloading mortars and burned off Players and creatures, so good. Jace also is very good control, and certainly worth at least 3 in MB
I'm def -2 {read the bones} and prob -1 {magma jet} for 3 jace aot
I like the morters better main board but I have the rifts in side board (had one in hand last game just never the right time to use it)
As far as ral goes haven't really thought bout him but not really sure what I could pull for him
I have thought bout ashiok but same problem as with ral
I'm thinking of replacing {master of the feast} with {Lifebane zombie} and pulling {notion thief} completely...maybe put ashiok there
Notion thief just isn't that great IMHO. Also I'd say keep the mortars MB, for sure. And I think Rift is a must have if you keep Master of Cruelties. Overload = They are at 1
Ral seems odd, but he wrecks. I promise. When I built my Grixis he fit like a glove as a 2 of, and every time I drew him it felt good. Ashiok in my Grixis was okay, but in my BUG is an all star, so maybe it's a meta thing, but she smashes face, and hearts, and souls.
MB Lifebane is interesting. I think it's definitely worth a shot. If he doesn't work, consider Thassa? That Scry every turn + making Master unblockable? Yes
Maybe Mogis as well? Burning 2 is pretty good. Also there's {Far//Away}.
I also ran 2 Ætherling (same as with my BUG) in MB. He just wins. It's easy to control the board with Grixis but really ending it is hard. Especially if you add Jace it's easy to dig for him, just some thoughts :)
I'll remake my Grixis and bump it so we can share ideas :)
