Anyone on here have a cube?? I'm thinking of putting one together and have read some stuff online, but never cube drafted or watched a cube draft.
Me either I get it kind of I think and it seems fun. Can someone who runs it/plays it explain it in full please? Thanks
I'm building one. You draft it like you would with packs, except each pack consists of 15 cards taken out of the cube pile, which has predetermined cards put in.
I built a 450 card cube. it's mostly supposed to be mono-colored, but I gave it a spin and put some duals in there. all the rares are legends too. me and my other friends really enjoy playing it. mostly because we took every mythic we could find and shoved it in there. such a broken cube...
I cheated. Basically I just buy 12 packs of each expansion. I sleeve them then put them in an 800 deck box in blocks. Then I deal out packs(1 rear 3 uncommon and 10 commons asking to check that there are no double cards except one foil) as needed depending if doing draft (3 packs) or sealed (6 packs). It's fun to mix in different sets together.
Yeah it looks like you need a pretty deficated playgroup

I was going to edit this but I laughed too hard so it stays. Lol
^im dying
Also I'm with Taysby. I only have 4 friends that play magic...
There's a couple (as in boyfriend/girlfriend) from my playgroup that have an excellent cube. They have so many goodies in it, a few of the cards are proxies, but there's so many promos and foils, it's beautiful. No power, but pretty much everything else. Man I want to draft it right now!
I just finished my powered cube a few days ago, it's designed to be really swingy and crazy board states, I have a lot of fun with it.
Just finished my Alara Cube
Friend has a power cube
It's super fun to draft/seal play

Cubes are great and even if you don't have a huge playgroup, you can bring it to your LGS. Many places, you can set up a night to draft and get a regular crowd.
Honestly
I find cubes to be ridiculous
There's a guy at my lgs that always shows at standard tournaments (even when no draft that night) with a cube always saying "anybody want to help me shuffle my cube??"
Then tried to get people to draft with his cube. They always turn him down
It's extremely annoying sometimes and i dont see why they dont kick him out when they know they can always fire a draft off getting 10 people making 120 off a single draft game and he's offering for free..

You can still pay to do a cube and use the money for prize packs. The difference between a cube draft and a pack draft. A cube draft is supposed to be more balanced. Where a pack draft someone could get lucky and hit three awesome mythic's and basically be inthe top 4 no matter what.
I wouldn't pay to draft out of a cube that belongs to someone who knows what's in it. That's just my opinion
All cubes usually have list, so you should ask the guy
Power cube is way more fun than anything else I've played (conspiracy is pretty wicked)
