Title: Land gates
Post by: Eldrazi Summoner on April 25, 2014, 07:19:31 PM
Okay so. For land gates. These guys in my local card shop told me that Selesnya Guildgate becomes one of the two colors land. Not put those color lands on the field. Though it says " add green or white mana color to your mana pool." So which is true?

You can tap  {Selesnya Guildgate} for either {W} or {G}

They produce one mana of desired color

Gates have no relation to any of the basic land cards, so Selestnia Guildgate is neither a plains nor a forest. When you tap it, you choose at that time wether you want green or white mana (doesn't use the stack otherwise you would choose on resolution).   The gate gives you flexability in the game, which is why it comes with a downside, and operates like any other land.

As opposed to {savannah} which is partly why it's sooo expensive.
