Title: Oblivion Ring loop

Cansomeone explain the oblivion ring loop to me?
A friend was saying that he could oblivion ring my oblivion ring and cause an infinite loop.

ok so it takes 3 {oblivion ring}s. i play mine exiling something. you play yours exiling mine. another opponent plays a third one exiling player 2s. player 1's returns, and he can target the third o ring. then players 2 can return and he can target player 1s over and over. this is why {detention sphere} can't exile other d spheres.

This only creates an infinite loop (causing a draw) if there are no more legal targets for them to target. (Why draw when you can win?)

Not in a two-player game. When the first Light comes back, the only other nonland permanent would be Light 3 (currently exiling Light 2, allowing Light 1 to come back), which would have the same controller as Light 1. And Light can't target anything its controller controls. So the loop can't happen.
