Title: Flashback
Post by: Btaylor91 on April 20, 2014, 02:22:41 AM
Can someone explain flashback for me? Whenever you give a card or it already has flashback can you cast it at instant speed or only at the speed originally dictated on the card such as sorcery/instant?

702.33a (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=702.33a): Flashback appears on some instants and sorceries. It represents two static abilities: one that functions while the card is in a player's graveyard and another that functions while the card is on the stack. "Flashback [cost]" means "You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost" and "If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack." Casting a spell using its flashback ability follows the rules for paying alternative costs in rules 601.2b and 601.2e-g.

Instants with flashback will be cast at instant speed and sorceries with flashback will be cast as a sorcery:)
Flashback does not change the card type to instant, it only allows it to be cast again for a flashback cost:)
