I hadn't heard about the Venser/Koth Duel Decks.
But i thought they were sort of fwiends and venser "did something that is not to be said"....

All I know is what I just got at target.
Decks were pretty meh. Only thing that really piqued my interest was the alt art venser and koth, and their respective emblems.
Honestly WOTC doesn't seem too concerned about this product. The official page doesn't have a decklist or anything. Junk on their part in my opinion. Are there any alt art cards besides Vensor and Koth?

Theirs a {preordain} I think is alt art. I need to look at the decks more though.

I don't know if they ever DO put the Decklist on product pages. I think they expect ppl to search for them. 😒

Just bought it. I was going to get one of the Innistrad event decks but they were all out at our petite little game store and I dont really have the disposable income to buy magic cards all that often so I bought the duel decks. They are pretty easy intro decks to MTG. I usually use control decks which are a little complicated, so I was relieved to have these in order to teach my sister MTG.

On this. I just purchased these decks, am yet to play them, but from reports of people in my meta, the Koth deck is much faster, and unless you get a great opening hand with the Venser deck, crazily hard to win with.
I just bought this pack and I'm heaps looking forward to using that cranky Vulshock's deck!
Venser's deck rewards clever, trick players. I think it has the tools to deal with Koth, but you have to make good plays. I like the match.
So I did end up getting the first match done. We randomized and I ended up with Koth. I started really well, hittin hard early, making him block with creatures and clearing his board a few times. Then I hit a snag as my hand ran dry ad he still had 6 or 7 cards. I pretty much was playing off the top of my deck with 6 mana and he was able to start combining some crazy cards to do some pretty cool stuff.
He came back for the win with unblockables and flyers that I had no answer for.
I think that even if I had played it a little differently I would have only got him down to 4 or 5 before he could combo stuff again and have me all tied up.
So if you can use the red decks early advantage, got for the win at all costs, coz when it comes to the later part of the game, that's all venser's ground.
I bought the decks because I wanted the two planeswalkers and their emblems, but ordering them online, was 28$, and the deck was 20, so I just got the whole sha-bang-nit!!

Some of the cards are, and there are plenty of cards that you could replace to actually make it standard, I'm sorta looking at doing it at the moment.
By playing them more I'll be able to see what the most effective cards in there are and what works best. Koth shouldn't be too hard, venser on the other hand will be a little trickier. Might just use him for my holy grail deck.
If you are looking for standard precons, I'd suggest event decks. They pack a good wallop right out of the can.

Agreed, I just liked the idea of something slightly different. :)
EDIT: I changed my mind, I have so many cooler cards for these decks that are non-standard. Lol

Got mine today. Love. Venser deck but not sure about koth never was much for mono red though. Cool packs none the less.
