I shouldn't ask this, but I'm new, I'm deciding what colors I should use and beginning to develop a deck... Any tips? :P
Depends, what kind of playstyle do you like? Instants and Sorceries? Huge creatures? Lots of little creatures? Decide that and we can talk colors :)
Do You want to start in standard? In which case I have a really cheap intro style swarms deck in the standard section. Gives a good general introduction to the game and is fairly fun to play.
Judging by what my friends do, I'd probably like a pretty regulated deck, fairly even... I've been browsing, though, and I think sorcery might suit me though. (Tell me if I say something stupid.)

Go instants because they can be played faster
Yeah that makes sense.
I recommend either borrowing a deck from a friend and play someone else (not the owner of the deck because they usually know it too well), or depending on how competitive the people you play try an intro deck, or if they are more competitive an event deck.

When they say a style. They are asking what interests you
Red is the color of passion, burn spells deal damage directly to your foes, lightning incinerates creatures while your elemental creatures zip past with haste
Green is the color of nature and either accelerates the game by having more creatures to produce mana quicker than your opponent (known as mana ramp) or it's sits backhand builds into the huge terrain flattening creatures that trample everything in their path
Blue is the color of thought, and it really doesn't care what your opponent does because it has an app..errr answer for that. Blue controls the mechanics of the game until it has the upper hand and sends its bird creatures flying over to slay its opponents
White is the color of justice, purity and honor define a battlefield of creatures that help you gain life or defend the life you have, spells buff them up or hinder you opponents creatures while your angels bring swift justice to them.
Black is the color of ambition, death and undeath. It sees your creatures, kills them, raises the as it's own and then drains your life with spells that are brutally effective, so much so it will even hurt itself to win.
Any of the five colors can beat any of the other four, the key is to find out which color you take best too. There are many online quizzes under "what magic the gathering color am I" and the like. Once you know what sounds good, borrow a deck for a friend or go buy a started of that color and we will help you make it your own.
You forgot colourless....

Artifacts are artifacts. That's a deeper level of the game. Here we're simply trying to show the basics of color structure.

Sparkle, I sincerely thought about it but if we are trying to teach the game then the new player needs to learn about colored mana requirements rather than simple tap lands till I get {8}. Besides I takes a relatively higher skilled player (with a bit of insanity) to run 100% pure artifacts deck
Done that once. Not easy
