I play a very similar deck and I was wondering if you could explain some of your card choices. Why play syncopate over dissolve? Why play warped over better removal like more downfall or ultimate price? Why play inspiration over read the bones?
There isn't real any answers to justify any of the card choices I threw this together with what I had and played tonight at a Saturday night standard shocked myself by going 4-1 placing into top 8 out of 31 players Any non-net deck tends to throw people off at my store it's saddening how poor they play.
I have swapped it now for 4 dissolve two syncopates I enjoy the sneak in counter early game when I can syncopate for one highly unfavor it late game especially when getting mana screwed it becomes a dead card. ( didn't have the silly dissolve uncommon sadly used store credit to grab a couple post tournament)
Demon proved it's worth tonight if I'm able to control them early enough swapped to main deck four and 1 aetherling and 4 night veils into side. ( played it 4 dd and 2 night main for the night)
The 3 of removal the initial idea was to pump my demon to help swing for the win (and not going to lie but rid of gods then tonight while playing I smacked myself realizing hey dummy you need 6-7 cards in hand for that to work). Which did work in two games for the pump but did swap to ultimate price as you stated. I run 2 ultimates 2 bile blights. I got hosed by a packrat one of the games in a set and saddened by it as I'm opting against the esper control net version I don't want verdicts. Should potentially help against weenie white as well managed beat the one I played today ashiok on curve stole his precincts which turned the game around hard game one. Game two I opened with three essence scatters :P
I made a an change and ~12 main b changes also upped lands to 26 and removed mutavaults I was never pleased with them on the field as useful.
** pre-tourney I added in 4 enlightment,3 silence temples and four hallowed fountain to run 2 of sphinx revs. It was useful esp with night veil casting easier stolen cards.
