Title: Why?
Post by: NovusOrbis on April 01, 2014, 10:20:07 PM
Why is Firedrinker Satyr honestly used in decks? Is there a reason other than it being a R 2/1 ?

In aggro decks, you don't care about your life total, so long as your opponents is lower. Plus a turn 1 {Firedrinker Satyr} and turn 2 {Madcap Skills} is quite powerful. Think about the turn 3 pump and {Boros Charm} for double strike....

Yet rakdos cackler is still better, theres a lot of aggro so in a racey game firedrinker pretty much solidifies yor loss

Never thought about madcap skills on it. Formidable, but I honestly think there are better turn 1 plays. Like soldier of the pantheon, for example. 2/1, life gain, agrro, and chump block if needed.

But it's pump ability gives you something to do with your mana (because you usually don't play to many things over 3), allowing you to maximize your mana and damage. I honestly don't like it either, but I can see the rationale behind using it.
