Title: Jace's Erasure
Post by: Coffee Vampire on April 01, 2012, 09:09:49 PM
My opponent has {Jace's Erasure} out and also a {Bloodchief Acsension} with 3 quest counters. I have 1 life. If he draws one card and then casts a spell, is he still able to make me mill one card for Jace's Erasure even though he forgot? His turn didn't end, but it says "whenever you draw a card, you may have target opponent put the top card of his or her library into his or her graveyard." Note the words "whenever" and "may". Does whenever mean he can only make me mill right when he draws or can he do it throughout his turn if he forgets? This is important as I would have won next turn.

Thanks!

Depends are you in a tournament? Technically no you dont have to unless he states for you to do so.

Like Tets said, the trigger happens right away. If it says "you may", and they missed it, it's considered that they didn't do it.

Okay thanks guys. My bro and I try to play as close to tourney rules as possible...just makes things feel legit. Of course he got the win still because we have been playing where "you can make them mill as long as it is their turn" for a while. But this is the first situation it would have been game changing and now that we have an answer we will play this way. Thanks so much again!
